Sadly, they do take up 2 slots in your party, but this may be an advantage when your soloing the game. And here’s where the Monster Hunter influence comes in – with your party, you can summon and recruit monsters, who even level up. There is also specialised armor and weapons for each class which you can craft from the materials you fine around the island and as loot that defeated monsters drop. You can take on hundreds of quests around the different areas and swap classes inbetween quests. You can play up to a two dozen classes, including Knight, White Mage, Monk and Time Mage, which is not unexpected in a Final Fantasy game. Apart from that, there isn’t much storyline.īut the storyline is not the main focus here. It is up to you to fight these monsters and get rid of the evil haunting the island. ![]() That and the giant crystal tower in the middle of the islands hints that there is a sigh of danger somewhat. The player starts as a traveler from Libertas who finds a small port town called Amostra, only to find that the island is overrun by monsters. ![]() So, why don’t we have a look at the most recent Final Fantasy game to come out?įrom my first look at Final Fantasy Explorers, it seemed to me to be a multiplayer Monster Hunter-esque take on the series, and many reviews have pointed this out. I think this year is going to be a good year for the Final Fantasy series, what with Final Fantasy XV (finally) coming out, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance now available on the Wii U and Final Fantasy VII Remake in the works.
